A new Gallup poll released Tuesday shows the vast majority of Americans see economic uncertainty in the year ahead, as inflation and supply chain issues ravage the economy.

“Coming off several challenging years, Americans enter 2023 with a mostly gloomy outlook for the U.S. as majorities predict negative conditions in 12 of 13 economic, political, societal and international arenas,” Gallup reports. “When offered opposing outcomes on each issue, about eight in 10 U.S. adults think 2023 will be a year of economic difficulty with higher rather than lower taxes and a growing rather than shrinking budget deficit.”

The poll finds 79 percent of Americans predicting economic difficulties in the coming year, with only 20 percent expressing optimism. An even higher percentage of Americans, 81 percent, believe taxes will rise.

Unfortunately for the country, it does not stop there. Participants were nearly as pessimistic when asked about consumer prices and the stock market.

“More than six in 10 think prices will rise at a high rate and the stock market will fall in the year ahead, both of which happened in 2022,” Gallup finds. “In addition, just over half of Americans predict that unemployment will increase in 2023, an economic problem the U.S. was spared in 2022.”

The survey finds Democrats are much more optimistic about the Biden economy than Republicans.

“Party identification is the greatest demographic differentiator in predictions for 2023, with Democrats more likely than Republicans to offer positive predictions for all of the dimensions,” Gallup reports. “Majorities of Democrats foresee five positive developments in 2023. These include full or increasing employment (69%), a reasonable rise in prices (53%), a rising stock market (53%)”

Meanwhile, only 23 percent of Republicans predict rising employment. Only 18 percent of Republicans think prices will rise at a reasonable rate, and only 15 percent foresee a rising stock market. While independents are slightly more optimistic, only 39 percent of independent participants foresee rising employment, and only 30 percent think prices will rise at a reasonable rate. An abysmal 33 percent believe there will be a rising stock market in 2023.

The results are clear — Biden is destroying the economy and Americans now more than ever realize this truth.
