This Saturday, Congresswoman Maxine Watters (D-CA) claimed during an interview on MSNBC’s “Ayman” that Congress has a number of right-wing Conservatives who happen to be “domestic terrorists.”
After host Ayman Mohyeldin asked if Republicans would cooperate on police reform following the tragic death of Tyre Nicholas, Waters replied, “It’s the Marjorie Taylor Greene Republican caucus.”
Waters then elaborated by claiming, “and you heard what McCarthy said. He said that he just loves her, and that he’s going to do everything he can to protect her.”
“We have these right-wing conservatives who are, you know, we have domestic terrorists in the House of Representatives,” Waters claimed. “These people are extremists. And so I am not optimistic that that is the way that it is going to happen until the people of this country really decide that they do not want it, and they are not going to elect people who act in the way that they act.”
It is rather rich that Waters is calling key Republicans “domestic terrorists.” This is the same Waters who famously called for protestors to confront top Trump officials in a variety of circumstances.
“If you think we’re rallying now you ain’t seen nothing yet. If you see anybody from that (Trump) Cabinet in a restaurant, in a department store, at a gasoline station, you get out and you create a crowd and you push back on them, and you tell them they’re not welcome anymore, anywhere,” Waters said in 2018.
And this is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to Water’s reckless rhetoric. We the people can see past the façade. We recognize the Democrats, not the Republicans, are the true radicals in Congress.
