For some reason, the White House thought it was a good idea to post a video of President Joe Biden blowing through the signing of 65 bills as fast as he possibly could.
According to a press release from the White House, the signings took place on Tuesday, December 27, and the stunt made it fairly obvious that there was no way Biden could have had the time to read and understand exactly what he was signing — he claimed they were “bipartisan bills.”
To make matters worse, the president looks at his watch and states, “Ready. Set. Go.”
The intent behind the video seems to be to show how productive Biden and the Democrat-run Congress has been — but it may have been planned to distract from the fact that while much of the Northeast digs out of a deadly winter storm that killed more than three dozen people in Buffalo, N.Y., and at least 25 others across a number of states, President Biden flew off to St. Croix for a Caribbean vacation.
While it’s easy to imagine Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., filing articles of impeachment against Donald Trump if he did something like this, this administration doubled down on their audacity by having the $1.7 billion Omnibus bill flown down to the St. Croix mansion of a billionaire Democratic donor where Biden is staying so he could sign the massive pork-laden legislation.
A closer look at the documents being signed on Tuesday shows a lot of resolutions naming post offices — this representing half of the stack.
There were also “woke” efforts to control language such as this: H.R. 3285, the “21st Century President Act,” which removes gendered language from Federal law relating to threats against the president and the president’s spouse.
And a measure directing the Committee of Congress on the Library to remove the bust of Roger Brooke Taney, the fifth chief justice of the Supreme Court who once owned slaves, in the Old Supreme Court Chamber of the Capitol “and to obtain a bust of Thurgood Marshall for installation in the Capitol or on the Capitol Grounds.”
