The annual nationally televised Super Bowl game to crown the NFL champion has become a must-see event for not only the gridiron action but also for its halftime show, a spectacle that has featured some of the world’s biggest musical stars.
This year, it was pop sensation Rihanna’s turn and she didn’t disappoint the crowd packed into State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona, treating those in attendance as well as the tens of millions who tuned in to a performance featuring her risqué dancing and sexually suggestive lyrics as well as an epic stage show.
One viewer who wasn’t impressed was former President Donald J. Trump who gave the award-winning singer two thumbs down.
“EPIC FAIL: Rihanna gave, without question, the single worst Halftime Show in Super Bowl history — This after insulting far more than half of our Nation, which is already in serious DECLINE, with her foul and insulting language. Also, so much for her “Stylist!” Trump wrote on his Truth Social platform.

What’s Trump’s beef with the Barbadian superstar?
It could be that she once spray painted a profane message that was extremely uncomplimentary to the nation’s 45th president who has been abused like a human piñata by entertainment industry figures ever since he sprung the big upset on the heavily favored Hillary Clinton in the 2016 election.

In 2020, she wrote “F**k Donald Trump” on a car at the Cadillac Ranch in Amarillo, Texas, a disrespectful gesture that one GOP lawmaker, Rep. Ronny Jackson (R-Texas) believed should have disqualified her from strutting her stuff at the Super Bowl.
“Rihanna spray painted “F*** Donald Trump” on a car at the Cadillac Ranch in Amarillo. She’s made a career of spewing degenerate filth while badmouthing America every chance she gets. Why is the NFL showcasing this crap? Rihanna SHOULD NOT be the halftime performer!!” Jackson wrote on Twitter last week.
The singer has also called for Trump to stop playing her music and called the then-POTUS “the most mentally ill” man in America in a 2019 interview with Vogue magazine.
In the interview, the pop sensation also tore into Trump for saying that mass shootings in El Paso, Texas and Dayton, Ohio were acts of “cowardice” and the result of a “mental illness problem.”
“It is devastating,” she told Vogue. “People are being murdered by war weapons that they legally purchase. This is just not normal. That should never, ever be normal. And the fact that it’s classified as something different because of the color of their skin?”
“It’s a slap in the face. It’s completely racist,” she added. “Put an Arab man with that same weapon in that same Walmart and there is no way that Trump would sit there and address it publicly as a mental health problem. The most mentally ill human being in America right now seems to be the president.”
Rihanna also took advantage of the occasion to inform her legions of adoring fans of her pregnancy, showing off her baby bump during the performance.
Previous performers at the Super Bowl halftime show include Madonna, U2, Lady Gaga, The Rolling Stones, Beyonce, Prince, Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers, Jennifer Lopez, Paul McCartney, and Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band.
