On Tuesday, during a healthcare speech in Virginia Beach, President Joe Biden claimed that “MAGA Republicans” are like a “different breed of cat.”
Biden stated:
“My plan that’s in stark contrast is to, not, by the way, there’s an awful lot of really good Republicans, but the MAGA Republicans are a different breed of cat. Now, they’re not bad or good or just very they’re very different. There’s kind of like, in my view, sort of two Republican parties. And I’ve served a long time.”
Biden also accused the GOP of placing the health care initiatives “on the chopping block.”
Biden even mentioned that he was quite “pleased” to look at “so many” GOP leaders supporting him when he stated “some Republicans want Social Security and Medicare to sunset” during his SOTU address.
He claimed:
“Maybe they found religion on Social Security, Medicare. I sure hope so. All kidding aside. But I believe when I see it.”
In the past, Biden has made false claims that “MAGA Republicans” are a threat to the United States.
During a speech from September 1st last year, Biden asserted:
“Donald Trump and the MAGA Republicans represent an extremism that threatens the very foundations of our Republic.”
He added:
“MAGA Republicans do not respect the Constitution. They do not believe in the rule of the law. They do not recognize the will of the people. They refuse to accept the results of a free election.”
However, when talking with Peter Doocy from Fox News on September 2nd last year, Biden changed his statement and said that Donald Trump’s supporters are not a “threat” to the country.
Biden said:
“Donald Trump and the MAGA Republicans represent an extremism that threatens the very foundations of our Republic.”
He added:
“MAGA Republicans do not respect the Constitution. They do not believe in the rule of the law. They do not recognize the will of the people. They refuse to accept the results of a free election.”
